Can I Trust?
That is the question that more and more managers ask themselves when they are looking for a development programme. This question is legitimate and sometimes very difficult to answer because, when it comes to what coaching schools promise, it is hard to verify.
Even the use of a specific phrase which includes many initials or references to organizations may represent a big risk of making a correct choice. As a new profession, born less than 20 years ago, coaching can be understood and promoted in a lot of ways.
It’s not wrong. Rather it’s a developing field and recently, more and more organizations are shifting the paradigm from imposed development programs to the chosen ones.
I wrote some time ago about choosing a program and some criteria that you have in mind.
For today we choose Anda Bog testimony, the person with a healthy and growing business career who describies her reasons and especially tell us what she obtained from International Coaching Academy program in Balkans.
“When I started thinking about studying coaching, I made an online tour of the ICF accredited schools around the globe and I chose
International Coaching Academy in… Australia! My criteria was simple: professional online platform, orientation towards business coaching and over 1.000 professionals certified already. It was more than a pleasant surprise to learn that they are going to launch a programme in Romania, with face to face courses. Hence, I was part of the first group to graduate from ICA Balkans, benefiting from world class training and great interaction within a heterogeneous group of people. I am ready now to launch my coaching business and happy to discover by talking to various people in the industry that I have a strong basis in the coaching profession”, says Anda Bog, an ICA Balkans programme fresh graduate.
Beyond the clear arguments that I mentioned before, I was recenty reading a study from 2007 from „Graduate School Alliance for Executive Coaching’’. And I noticed a few similarities between the students who choose to go to those programs with those who joined ICA Balkans, namely:
• They have significant business experience
• 7 out of 10 are women
• 9 out of 10 audited programs has practice and supervision included
• Final exam decides upon certification
Actually, ICA has an academic curricula having all the components that are offering to a new student the knowlege, practice and the supervision he/she needs to integrate in order to become prepared and confident as a coach.
I am inviting you to experience the campus atmosphere of ICA Balkans on Tuesday, October 7, from 6:30 pm.
Are you not convinced yet? Until we meet, listen to one of the best experienced professors of ICA Balkans, Rob Stringer, who explains which is the best way to draw a successful road map for yourself in this profession.
