Case study: Schaeffler Romania – Coaching team leaders in a key performance indicators environment
Part of a global group with presence on 50 countries, the Brasov factory is a green-field investment that exceeds 500 millions Euro to date and is a major presence in central Romania.
The main challenge in this project was in fact meeting a culture based on performance indicators and tight measurements, clear designed processes, lean framework and why not managers and team leaders mindset focused on manufacturing throughput. Initially we entered in a partnership with Ascent Group, present for 5 years as training supplier.
Our client was in fact, the project management unit, which piloted 3 different teams in parallel in order to choose the best solution for scaling the project.
The Scope was limited to 9 persons, with 3 coaches for a 6-month period, followed by 3 months of measuring results period.
What we discovered during the implementation phase was the problem solving focus, bottlenecks and escalating issues.
One thing I recognized in my clients stories, was the desire to be listened and taken in consideration.
In the junior team leader case I coached I also found eagerness to progress and share with others his experience.
The pilot phase was successful and we were invited in 2017 to implement a project with 3 phases, with a team of 5 coaches.
